Purpose for life

We are to love The Lord with all our heart, soul, and might. I was reminded of this today. Also was remind if you love The Lord you will follow His commandments. We say yea no problem I can read the word I can memorize scripture I can fellowship with believers I can stay focused in Christ and out of trouble. I can be a good Christian but we forget the command to go and tell others about Him and to disciple others so are we really following His commands? We pray for revival to take part in our lives we pray to be on fire for God and just sit stagnate. If we go and share Christ with others we can help but get fires up for God. If we have a true love for Christ then we will love people and the best thing we can do for someone is to show them Christ the real Christ, the one sitting at the right hand of God not one we have made up.

What would happen

So over the last couple of weeks I have had people asking me to sign petitions, I have seen a city shut down and men riding in military vehicles due to winning a ball game. I have heard amazing sermons/ challenges. So it made me think. I deal with this each year about this time. What would happen if we praised and worshiped God as some do people who play ball? What would happen if we really saw Christ as who he is? We pray for revival to take place but what are we doing to stop it or help it start? We seem to get so passionate about things that don’t have any kingdom value to them but hide afraid someone might be offended if we share the GOSPLE. Why can we not see that showing people Christ is the most important thing Christ has charged us to do. I feel if we were more willing to share then we would see revival in our lives that would spread to our families that would spread to or church then our communities then our state country world. God is amazing why can we not get out of our box of Christianity and see nothing is beyond Him. Think about that.

King Jesus

This weekend at conclave I sat in a breakout that was on the majesty of Jesus and how we just put him in our pocket (lesson to come) but the question we were left with is do we see Jesus as who he is now are do we see him as a smiling man in a bathrobe patting children on the head

Church Views

Looking and listening to people talk about the church of today. It’s kind of strange to see how the traditional church is becoming the minority and dying off. I feel the church of today is becoming more community based with the view of reaching people and showing them Christ love by showing not just telling them about it. It seems to be more relaxed on how one looks and what one wears because the focus is on sharing Christ not impressing people. What do I mean well no matter how hard we try as a traditional church we feel like if we look good enough act and sing holy enough or have that right program that people will bust down our doors to be a part of our church. It seems that traditional church aren’t that traditional because the mass of new church plants try to focus on being like the church in Acts one of community and one of going out and reaching people by showing and telling Gods love in a non pushy way. When you get down to it traditional vrs modern it has nothing to do with music. I have been to traditional churches who played modern praise and worship and I have been to modern churches that play hymns. I think that the biggest thing is that in modern churches there is no high church have to be holy atmosphere and it has to do with the fact of wanting all to have a relationship with Christ. Not the fact that they are trying to sell their church to others. Face it it takes more than going to church and being good and doing good things. It takes a love relationship with Christ.

Canada update

It’s been a good trip so far. We left at 4 am on sat and arrived at our room btw 9:30-10:00pm. On Sunday we prayer walked the neighborhood that we are in. Then we got to attend a the 1st pray meeting of the fellowship we are working with. Love the feeling of community that takes place in the fellowship.Mon we did some passed out flyers about a food drive we are doing thurs evening. Then we went to Walmart and got groceries for the week and after supper we went and prayer walk a school and neighborhood called Stoney creek we’re they are starting a new fellowship in the fall. Tuesday we went and worked with a organization called mission services and helped clean out there wear house and sort clothing for the clothing closet. You may be asking why Canada the missionary told us that only 3% of the greater Toronto area would say they are Christian. So 97% of the people are lost so that’s why Canada.
Wed we pass out reminders for the food drive on thurs evening, then we we to Niagara falls and then wed evening we had worship with the fellowship. If I haven’t said it before this week has been amazing

Pursuit

Since last week I have been really thinking about pursuing God & his pursuit of us. A lot of times our pursuit is made up of just attending church. We do this because it is what we have been raised to do it has become habitual. By that I mean there is no passion for Christ no desire for growth or to see others grow. It has become stagnate. So what can we do? Well we should look at our relationship with God, and ask ourselves some questions. 1 have I given my life to Christ and allowed Him to have total control? I don’t mean do you believe that Christ is the son of God. I don’t mean do you believe He is in control. Because even Satan believes that. I mean have you admitted you are a sinner, asked God to forgive you , given Him control of your life and turn and ran as fast as you could from your sin. Replacing it with the pursuit of God. It’s time to wake up church and get excited for our Lord. To do what he has called us to do. To share the gospel with everyone and teaching them how to pursue Christ not just sit in church so we can mark it off our to do list or make someone happy. It time to get passionate for Christ. 2 do you know why you do what you do? Do you understand why being part of a fellowship of believers is important. It’s not just a social event. We have all been given different talents and gifts and when we use them together God can do amazing things. Is it real to you or do you do it to do it. I have said many times if I truly did not believe the gospel I would not darken the doors of a church.
They say the number 1 cause of atheism is the Christian or those who claim it. Again it is time to wake up and quite acting like we are defeated because Christ is real and alive. He ha already won. Let’s get excited about it.

Fuge camp week of July 4th

Last week we took some youth from Mt Yonah to fuge. The theme this year was pursue and let me just say it was well needed. We saw God at work in our group from the fact of them being out of there comfort zone to watching them worshiping God with nothing holding them back. One night they painted three words on three canvases I Will Go. The Holy Spirit took hold of the service and over 700 people went up on stage and they wrote on them were they felt to go for Christ. Thank to all those who help us go last week!! God has truly been at work in the lives of the students in our church.

Five Finger shoes and Christianity part II

Well in my last post I had some friends make the statement that if I tried five fingers it would change me. Well there is not a day I can’t wait to get off work and put on my five fingers. Even if I run in my other minimalist shoes I still put them on after the run. So like those shoes but better when you allow Christ control of your life it changes you. No you don’t get taller or a better stride but it changes you. Your mindset changes, what you once maybe read or watched on tv doesn’t seem right because it is against Christ and your mindset is changing through allowing Christ control and bible study to that of Christ. You are also changed by the fact that after allowing Christ control you will have eternal life with Him in heaven and not be sentenced to death in Hell. That’s a biggie you are changed. Wearing five fingers everybody looks and question in some way. It opens many opportunities to talk to others you get to a point where you know it’s coming. You kind of can’t wait until it does so you wear them
in the strangest places. I wore mine to a wedding once with a black suit . As. Christians you have to be looking for the chances to share your faith, and we should be excited to at anytime. So they change you yea both do , but if you are going to pick just one pick Christ the change is better and more exciting.

Five Fingers Shoes and Christianity part 1

Five Finger shoes what is that you may be asking. Well they are a minimalist shoe designed for a more natural feel. In other words you feel like you are walking around barefoot. I will never forget the 1st time I saw some friends of mine wearing them. I think I made the statement to my wife that those were the most ridiculous shoes(if you can call them that) I have ever seen. Why would someone to that to there feet (those who know me are more than likely laughing).
Well for some reason I could not get those shoes out of my mind. My friends swore
about them and how comfortable they were, and if i ever tried them I would be changed forever. So I looked into them and did some research on them. I found out that those who went to a more natural way of running we’re less likely to get hurt. So that sold the shoe to me due to the fact that every time I got into high mileage I would get hurt. So I bought a pair, since I have ran a 5k, 8 mile and numerous training miles in my five fingers. I just completed my 1st half marathon not in my five fingers but in another minimalist shoe. So I am sold.
I know you are thinking what does that have to do with Christianity. Well i am getting there. Those shoes felt so good that I started wearing them everywhere I could. Every where I went people would turn and stare and then question my shoes. I will never forget the 1st time I wore them to church and the looks and commits I got which were all taking in good humor. People just couldn’t believe they were shoes because they looked so different. I also started running with a local club and they just couldn’t believe someone would run in them. Man did they question me about those shoes because they were different. So I decided I needed to be able to explain my craziness. To this day people will stop me and ask about my shoes some smile and look at me like no I don’t think so, but some consider the change.
As Christians we are called to be different, to have a different mindset. Is that who you are in Christ are you different from the world due to your relationship with Christ or are you like the normal running shoe and no different just a little more cushion or comfort. As Christians people are suppose to see something different in us due to Jesus. Is it there in you. Some may just look at you and smile and say to themselves he/she is crazy. Well if I am going to be crazy why. Of be crazy for Christ!!! Some will look at you and question you about it. Are you ready and willing to share?? Think about it.

Safety

Today Noah and I took our dog to a dog park today. Let me tell you it was an adventure. We were there for about 5min and she broke out. My dog is the only dog I know that would escape from a safe fenced in place with all the toys you could play with. It took us 10 min to catch her which with our dog is not an easy task.
You know we as Christians should have some of that crazy dog mentality. We can get to comfortable in our church bubbles if we are not careful. Christ did not call us to be bubble people he called us to go out and to share the gospel with all nations. It is time that we as Christian stop doing thing as the past would call normal and get out of the bubble and safety of our church where or needs are met and start crazily sharing the gospel no matter the cost. Join the journey!
